Papi dagdagan ko na rin itong thread mo.. kausap ko lang ung media na kapitbahay namin utos daw ng governor nang bulacan.. yung no helmet policy sa mga national road i-implement na rin daw sa ordinary road throughout bulacan.. kaya expect nyo na yung mga checkpoint na kaliwa't kanan.. kahit daw ung angkas dapat may suot na helmet mantanda man o bata.. pag nahuli ka daw 1,500 ang tubos sa baliwag LTO.. sa manila matagal na itong policy na ito.. pero sa mga urban road na kadalasan sa mga province like bulacan.. bago lang ito..
ung kapitbahay ko nahuli na.. wala syang plaka, at walang helmet = 5k ang tubos..
tapos nakaabang ung mga buwaya sa mga iskwelahan.. kasi alam nila kadalasan mga estudyante ang matitigas ang ulo.. kanina galing akong bayan.. daming nahuli halos lahat puro estudyante..
wear your gear guys kahit bibili lang sa kanto.. mahirap maghanap nang 1.5k sa panahon ngaun..

The general public is advised to stay indoors tonight, January 26, and tomorrow because of several bomb threats across Metro Manila. The other places that were said to have received the bomb threats are Quezon City Circle, C-5, Osmeña Highw...ay, Roxas Blvd and Ayala Ave. The PNP together with the NBI are investigating the incident and are assuring the public that they are doing everything in their power to control the situation. They're asking the public to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to 117 immediately. - Flash report from TV5...

MMDA starts new traffic scheme along Commonwealth
MANILA, Philippines - Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino is confident that accidents along Quezon City's "killer highway" will be lessened by the agency's new traffic scheme, which took effect on Tuesday.
"Positive po ako na mare-reduce natin ang accidents. In fact, ngayong araw walang nai-report sa akin na accident dito sa Commonwealth Avenue," Tolentino said in an interview on ABS-CBN's "Umagang Kay Ganda."
Tolentino personally led the MMDA contingent deployed along Commonwealth Avenue during the first day of implementation of the 60-kilometer per hour speed limit along the 12.4 kilometer highway.
Aside from the speed limit, the MMDA also started implementing lane segregation along Commonwealth Avenue.
Under the lane segregation scheme, the right-most lanes are for buses while the second lane next to the bus lane is for motorcycles and jeepneys.
Tricycles, meanwhile, are banned from using the highway under the new scheme.
The MMDA reported that as of 7 a.m., 24 tricycles were apprehended for violating the ban, and 24 buses were flagged down and issued tickets for violating breaching the "bus lane" or the yellow lane.
Eleven motorcycles that entered the yellow lane were also arrested, and 2 passenger jeepneys were stopped for defective headlights.
Eight buses and passenger jeepneys were also apprehended for obstruction.
Tolentino said that the MMDA deployed at least 140 traffic enforcers along Commonwealth Avenue. He added that they are using more than 20 speed guns.
Tolentino said that if the new scheme becomes successful, the MMDA will study the possibility of implementing the same scheme in major thoroughfares in Metro Manila, including Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA).

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said it only gave warnings to motorists who violated a new 60-kilometer per hour speed limit on Commonwealth Avenue on its first day of implementation yesterday.
Today, however, motorists caught speeding or violating lane segregation by MMDA enforcers armed with digital cameras and speed tracking guns will be sent notices within seven days. Under the MMDA’s “no contact policy,” the enforcers no longer need to apprehend motorists to document traffic violations.
The MMDA said motorists who will be caught speeding can still contest their violation before the agency’s Traffic Adjudication Board or just pay a P1,200 fine at any Metrobank branch or at the MMDA main office.
Emerson Carlos, MMDA assistant general manager for operations, said from 4 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. yesterday, traffic enforcers tagged at least eight speeding motorists every 30 minutes.
He said enforcers also caught 219 public and private motorists violating the lane segregation rule.

The often-fatal accidents involving motorcycle riders and passengers have prompted the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to call for the full implementation of the Helmet Law.
Based on Republic Act 10054 or the Mandatory Helmet Act of 2010, motorcycle riders who are apprehended for not wearing a protective helmet will be fined from P1,500 up to a maximum of P10,000.
The LTO is also advising motorcyclists to wear proper footwear to avoid any untoward accident.
"They shouldn't wear sandals when riding a motorcycle because it might get caught on the gear shift lever," said Joel Donato, chief of the LTO's North Motor Vehicle Inspection Center. "It doesn’t matter if it's a Crocs brand of sandals, it’s still illegal."The LTO has also started its "Oplan Balik Rehistro," which calls for all motorcycle owners to register their two-wheelers. According to the agency, over 1 million unregistered motorcycles have already been apprehended by law enforcement authorities.
Citing numbers from the LTO, ABS-CBNNews.com reported that of the 2.7 million registered motorcycle riders, 10 percent or 270,000, have died in a motorcycle-related accident.

To all women drivers…BEWARE...
I just want to share with you my experience this afternoon Jan 13, 2011. At around 4:30 pm while driving along Shaw Blvd right after San Miguel Avenue going towards Pioneer street, a man ( Guy A) walking knocked on the passenger window and with mixed signals pointed at my hood saying there’s a spark. Another man (Guy B) walking also signaled the same so I went towards the driveway of PhilUSA when I noticed Guy A telling me to park in 10/Q (along Shaw Blvd). Since the traffic light was green, I decided to go straight to Caltex Service Station at the corner of Pioneer and Shaw Blvd. When I stopped the car I asked the gasoline boy to check if there is a spark at the bottom of my hood. He said no. At first I didn’t want to believe him thinking that 2 different persons (Guy A & B) pointed to the same problem. Another man whom I thought was a Good Samaritan (Guy C) then asked me to start the engine so he can observe if there was indeed a spark. Driving within the Caltex gas station but going towards Shaw Blvd (Caltex is located at the corner of Pioneer Street and Shaw Blvd) he then asked me to open the hood. Thinking that I was quite safe, being in the gas station, I did what he told me to do. He asked me to get down from the car so I can see the problem. At first I was hesitant but needing to see the problem, I turned off the engine and stepped down from my car. Alarm flashed in my head telling me to lock the car doors (doors automatically open when I turned off the engine). Thinking that the passenger door is permanently locked, I was a bit comforted knowing that my handbag (which was placed in the middle of the seat on top of the hand brake) is safe. Guy C then asked me to start the engine so I can see the spark…. suddenly Guy A came over and checked the problem. He even engaged me in a conversation telling me how he was concerned when he saw the sparks. I noticed he had an open umbrella but it didn’t register in my mind that the umbrella was used as a ploy – trying to block my view of the whole car. Guy A wanted me to go near the front. I stayed where I was – at the left side of my car near the door. Part of me was afraid that someone might drive off with my car while I stand in front of the hood. At that point I was kind of pissed with Guy A. Guy C then offered to call a mechanic. I even asked him if he works nearby (Guy C looks like a messenger, wears a barong and even have an ID around his neck) and he said yes. So off he went. I didn’t bother with Guy A since I went back inside my car and waited. After a few minutes, the supervisor of the gas station came to me and asked: “ Ma’m are your things intact?” I looked around and said yes. He then repeated his question. That’s when I noticed that my handbag was missing. He then told me that the gasoline boy saw somebody alight from a Toyota FX (plate no. UAJ 472) and opened the back door and got a black bag while I was busy talking with Guys A & C.
I requested for assistance from the policemen ( in Royal Blue and Black Pants) but they keep pointing me to the next corner until I almost reached the end of Shaw Blvd – all the policemen doesn’t have their radio until the Barangay official from Brgy. San Antonio escorted me to the police station.
LESSONS LEARNED:
1. Always keep your cellphone with you. Don’t put it in your handbag. I was lucky enough to get hold of my cellphone as I was about to meet up with a friend who just ended a meeting. This enabled me to call the banks to cancel my ATM and credit cards.
2. Call a friend. When it all happened, I called up a friend to tell her about having problems with my car.
3. Be vigilant while driving. I didn’t notice the FX tailing my car from Shaw Blvd to the gas station. According to the police, the vehicle must have targeted me from my last stop – I just came out of the bank along Shaw Blvd then went to Cherry Supermarket.
4. If you car is well-maintained, don't just stop when someone points out a problem. Drive to the nearest gas station. My car is only 21/2 year old. There is no way a problem other than flat tire can happen especially if it is well-maintained. For lady drivers, i suggest you get a wireless tire gauge so you can easily monitor the air pressure of your tires from inside your car. It is a bit costly but it may also save your life especially at night.
5. Don’t be too gullible. Even a street-smart person can be deceived. Always be careful. In situations like these, as there are 5 or 6 men ( driver of the vehicle, the person who got my bag, Guys A, B & C and a look-out) if you are a target, don’t just stop the car. Go to a public place like gas station.
6. Be thankful... After hearing so many stories of women being victimized, I thank God nothing untoward happen to me. My car was not taken from me; I was not harmed nor injured. Never mind about the bag, wallet, money and cards lost. It can easily be replaced. You only have 1 life.
Please pass to all the women drivers. According to Capt. Tonga of the Police Precinct in Brgy. San Antonio, something similar happened yesterday (Jan 12) at C5. I’m sure this won’t be the last. If you see a Toyota FX with Plate no. UAJ-472, please report to the nearest police.

nakikita ko naman mga naka mc sa lane ng mga private vehicles..bandang kaliwa na talaga..
madami na ding natitiketan na mga jeep at bus pag nakalampas sa yellow lane nila at natyempuhan ng mga traffic enforcers..
so...mga taxi at private vehicles na ang makakasabayan ng mga MC's sa lane... (based on my observation dito po sa commonwealth mga paps )..
nakikita ko naman mga naka mc sa lane ng mga private vehicles..bandang kaliwa na talaga..
madami na ding natitiketan na mga jeep at bus pag nakalampas sa yellow lane nila at natyempuhan ng mga traffic enforcers..
