Tik Tik Sound On Switch On

hi guys, i have a problem on my sniper, i thought its a battery problem(low-batt) but after charging, the problem is still there. the problem is, when i turn the ignition switch on, the neutral (blue) and temp (red) light sometimes flickering. and i can hear ticking sound on the bottom part of the fuel tank. and i cant use electric start, like low battery. what is the possible problem? TIA

the tick sound came from the relay box.
as what mhokz said check your fuse, clean the terminals. thats loose connection.

where is that relay box sir trax? ok thanks. ill check the fuse later.

- the relay is located besides battery compartment, just look for the red wire connected to the fuse holder and the relay seats beside from it with a rubber holder... hope this help....

ok thanks . ill check on that relay. just checked on the wiring diagram, and now i know how to find it. (hopefully)

checked for the relay,and seems like no loose connection. And i checked also other connections there, rectifier, and other relays. what i did next, start the engine, removed battery, checked voltage on the positive and negative wires, it is only 6volts, but when i switched on healight (HID set-up) it went up to 18volts. seems like it is not charging when light is off,. now, what do you think is wrong with my bike? BTW, my HID set-up is the one with relay connected, cutting off the yellow wire from stator when hid-on. do i have busted rectifier or stator? Help please

it seems you have a problem with rectifier,, go for trial and error check by using other snipers stock rectifier as what papa thon said..

seems like. the ticking sound is coming from the fan motor relay. and ive checked the voltage in the coil, its only 6v, do you think thats the reason why there is ticking sound?( cant keep the contact on because low voltage)?how to check rectifier if it is ok?

oops,, you might replace your rectifier this is not a good sign.. BTW, what tester/multimeter did you used in testing its continuity? and what is the reading/value reading of all wires corresponds to grounding..

you can try also checking by removing the connector of rectifier and remove it out from the chassi. test all pins, connect the neg(-) probe to heat sink of the rectifier and the Pos(+) probe to each/every pin connector. If you use an analog tester use Rx1 settings.

yes. does mio and sniper have the same rectifier? i checked some shops and they have mio rectifier, but the same marking/model as the one installed in my sniper. i only checked if there is continuity to ground, i didn't get the value. BTW, i tested other battery, from my other motorcycle, no more tik tik sound,and no more hard start problem, then i removed the battery (engine running) and i tested the voltage output from the positive and negative wires, still 6volts when lights off, and 18-19v when HID on. so i think there is really a problem on the rectifier. am i right?

maybe your rectifier is busted,and your battery is weak,cutting the yellow wire for fast charge is not advisable in long term use,just like happen to my friends snipee,

yes maybe, i think its 3-4 years now that the bike is using hid, it has relay that will cut yellow wire when hid on.

youhave a problem on your rectifier,,,and maybe theres a relay installed on your yellow line,or maybe there is something change to your wire connection for fast charge,thats the reason why if your hid is on-is in high voltage output

ok.ill replaced first the battery and rectifier, and see if it will solve the problem. will update the thread ASAP. still dont have the parts needed.thanks guys for the help. i hope thats the problem.

i replaced the battery and im on testing mode. install next the voltmeter to see the actual voltage when riding.

forgot to update the thread. i replaced the battery with quantum brand MF for sniper, no more tik tik sound during start up.
