maybe you can help me with asprocket combination on my spark135 suited for general riding (city and mostly highway travel), im using 80/80 front, 90/80 rear tires. i installed kitti trans with the following gear: 1st-13T/32T. 2nd-14T/29T, 3rd-17T/22T, 4th-21T/23T. the kitti trans provide longer pulls per shift. i use presently a 15T/42T sprocket combination. it gud enough acceleration and gud enough top speed. it seems adequate for general purpose riding. i tried a 14T/42T, great accelaration but top speed a little low. any suggestions would be appreciated.

this is std gearbox
34/12 2.833
30/16 1.875
23/17 1.353
23/22 1.045

this is wheel gearbox for topspeed
31/12 2.583
29/16 1.813
23/17 1.353
21/23 0.913

but you use
32/13 2.46
29/14 2.07
22/17 1.29
21/23 0.91

so your gearbox is already change to topspeed but second gear is shortgear than std ...
15/40 is good for you...did you try it

bro follow the tables of sprocket combination
listed on page 1.
pay particular to gear ratio

feel your bike.
if you feel that your bike accelerates fast BUT low topspeed
then select the next lower gear ratio
vice versa...

feel your bike bro.
follow the tables listed.

Understand what gear ratio means.
gear ratio of 2.6 means
2.6 turns of engine is equal to one revolution of tire/wheel.

in bicycle,
you need to pedal 2.6 turns to make 1 wheel revolution of tire/wheel.

once you understand that, you will know whats best for your motorcycle.

So follow the gear ratio ONE AT A TIME.

aside from changing sprockets, why dont you guys change other parts like the exhaust. It will surely help a lot even if your using bigger tires or stock sprockets. changing sprockets wont change a lot.

if you say like that... i would suggest 15-40 428

and after change feel it like 1-2 days of riding before you decide to stay with the new setup or else....

i feel that the yamaha lc needs 1-2 days for the machine to understand your new sprocket setup....

I use 14-45. That's about 3.21 gear ratio. Top speed is 120kmh. But I dont use my bike on the road,I use it for track race this coming Sunday 6/7/08. Any comments?

Bike spec: vixion block 58mm piston, super cam, racing cdi, racing clutch spring, Kevlar clutch plate, 28mm carb (110 pilot & 38 slow jet), Dunlop tt900 (80/80 front & 90/80 rear) and nob1 exhaust

which one would be better to add top speed? 15-38 or 15-40?

theoritically 15-38 would add more top speed, but would our engine have enought power to push the rpm to the same for more speed?

Or 15-40 seems slower but our engine would make a higher rpm to make the speed faster?
