SPEEDOMETER GEAR PROBLEM

Have you experienced seeing your speedometer needle "wiggling" then suddenly it stops moving?here is the problem.

if you can see the dirty gear inside, that is made up of metal, so it is less likely damged.

heres the culprit!

if you will notice there is a deep portion in which the plastic gear was eaten away by the metal gear.

probable causes:

*dirt getting inside the gear box
*frequent reverse of your snipy
*too much speed!!!!!!!!!haha

Counter measure:

Always check and lubricate your gearbox and speedometer cable

or if it is already too late

you can always buy mio speedometer gear.fits like a charm.

its just the same, thats what im using now, nothing changed in my speed reading. Its all in the tires.

Mine just wiggling everytime i ride my snipee. But it still functional. Any remedy to it? Its annoying to see it wiggling. -.-

lets just say. grease vs water. this problem occur during rainy season and always washing our mc. and also reversing our mc. buti nlng digital gauge gamit ko. pwede sya sa reverse. heheh

i think your wrong sir, even though your mc is digital, the cable have the same function, you repaced only digital panel not the whole connection like R150 dont have na manual cable. unlike our sniper we use the same cable, if thge cable is damage then your digital meter will not work...

sbi nila pag more on reverse ang mc masisira ung cable or mapuputol kc ung stock meter ay 1 direction lng sya going front ika nga.. but sa uma digital gauge kng talagang 1 direction din sya same ng stock bkt twing inaatrass ko ung motor ko sir may pumapatak na speed. 1-4km/h depende sa bilis ng pagatrass ng motor. kng 1 direction.. sana wlang na lumabas na speed sa metro. sori for tagalog explanation.. i can prove this sir if my fellow UMA DIGITAL GAUGE user share there experience also.

uma digital gauge is a very good accessory,however be careful not to get your battery to a low voltage, it will ruin an IC in the gauge which there are no replacement parts afaik.

i think you misunderstand what im saying sir... or maybe i did not.

i said that if you broke your speedo gear in your mc, your UMA will not function. un like other digital they dont have a speedo gearbox

ok sir.. get it.. i just like to differentiate the digital and the stock gauge for sniper. both using cable but the difference is the uma,you can reverse your mc in a long stretch but the stock has a limited distance only to prevent from breakage. just like the tacho of yamaha fz. also a digital but using a gear from the front wheel and it has a speedo cable.
