I have run a Nology profire with a Hotwire. You will notice a difference with a nonresistor plug, but.......a nonresistor plug causes interference with the CDI. I experienced cut-out at low rpm, temp light blinking all the time and RPM gauge eratic. Running a resistor plug.........there is no difference from stock.
Just tried Pro-fire coil and hotwire lead, bike would not run (erratic idle, misfire when rev etc.) with API Tech RCDI (fully programmable), don't know why, maybe late spark alters the timing?Protec coil with ground strap VS nology hotwire with profire
has any one tried any of these?

put standard CDI in (to get me home!) runs ok?, will probably go back to standard coil lead setup and put API Tech back!
BTW Specs of bike engine;
UMA super-head (sport) 23mm in/20mm ex
63mm Mallossi bore
28mm PWK carb
DNA airfilter (top cut out of air box)
Stainless header pipe (with modified standard muffler)
API Tech RCDI (fully programmable)
What a nice setup bro.. Salute! How does it perform in real world?
Anyway back to the subject, has anyone also tried NCY Direct Ignition Coil? How does it compare to Protec racing coils?
