Protec coil with ground strap VS nology hotwire with profire

has any one tried any of these?

I have run a Nology profire with a Hotwire. You will notice a difference with a nonresistor plug, but.......a nonresistor plug causes interference with the CDI. I experienced cut-out at low rpm, temp light blinking all the time and RPM gauge eratic. Running a resistor plug.........there is no difference from stock.

temp light blinking? as far as i know, blinking temp light means there is a problem depending on the number of blinks isn't it? well anyways, non resistor plug will giver higher electricity,,

what cdi did you use?

Nah. The blinking was not consistent and my rpm meter was unreadable. My BRT cdi did not like it. It works good if you can use a nonresistor plug though. Very good throttle response!

Just tried Pro-fire coil and hotwire lead, bike would not run (erratic idle, misfire when rev etc.) with API Tech RCDI (fully programmable), don't know why, maybe late spark alters the timing?
put standard CDI in (to get me home!) runs ok?, will probably go back to standard coil lead setup and put API Tech back!

BTW Specs of bike engine;
UMA super-head (sport) 23mm in/20mm ex
63mm Mallossi bore
28mm PWK carb
DNA airfilter (top cut out of air box)
Stainless header pipe (with modified standard muffler)
API Tech RCDI (fully programmable)

What a nice setup bro.. Salute! How does it perform in real world?
Anyway back to the subject, has anyone also tried NCY Direct Ignition Coil? How does it compare to Protec racing coils?

Bike was going really well, still haven't had it up to top speed, but it has plenty of power through the gears, dropped it back to workshop yesterday, so they can sort out problem with nology / rcdi.
So hoping it will run better than ever when I pick it up later today.
