Super Veteran
Dear All,
This year was a really a strong year for YamahaT135. I used to “only browse” in every chat room concerning MC’s. Until this site caught my attention. I was then encouraged to join by the respect and how people treat each other here… A lot of events were successfully accomplished and I believe that numerous guests/subscribers became a part of this BIG FAMILY for 2010. I’m one of those lucky ones that were welcomed and “am proud “to be part of the CLAN T135!!
From the words spoken on every thread….
From every smile… laughs… grin and awful facial expressions seen on our pictures…
Anybody can easily say how enthusiastic and happy we are on what we do… (Especially when we converse about our byks!!! hehehe)
With the help of YamahaT135, I’ve met a lot of people… gained new friends… and as a member of the family… I modestly BRAG to anybody I met how we treat each other with respect and wholeheartedly promote it.
But kindly allow me to temporarily set aside those happy reflections and focus on our dear brother, Eugene Reyes, also a proud member of the Elite Sniper Club. For there were never a time where in he didn’t express any loss of eagerness to be a part of the YamahaT135 family. It was the 4th of December 2010… We’re supposed to celebrate our Christmas Party (early as for if not everybody, Most of us would be available to attend) and meet up with our fellow PTP (Pamapanga-Tarlac-Pangasinan) brothers in Baguio. The assembly time was 0200, and where else… Caltex, Marisol. Everybody was thrilled, scared, energized…. All mixed emotions for the ESC’s “MAJOR RIDE” of 2010.
We took off at around 0300 packed with smiles and conviction … that soon, we’ll see ourselves at the top of the mountain … congratulating everybody about the good and safe job we’ve done conquering our fears and overcoming our bad driving habits… (Who doesn’t have one?)
And so, with these determinations, we made our first stop over at Mabalacat to meet up with the rest of the pack. 15 more minutes passed and the couple joined us. (Roel and his wife)
Aaarrriiyyyaaahhhh!!!! Let’s Get it On with the RIDE!!! Wwhooo-hoooo…..!!!!
Then the unexpected happened… 0500…
I don’t even know how to start the story on how the accident happened. Honestly, I’m still denying what the team and I experienced. As of this moment, all I can still remember was the figure of a vehicle rapidly forcing its way to ours… BRIGHT LIGHTS… LOUD HORRIFYING THUD… SPLASH OF ENGINE OIL in the air (seen thru the bright lights)… FAIRING FLYING ALL OVER… in split seconds, I’ve seen all of this happened. Next was the reflex of the guy in front me swerving his way to the outer north bound lane simultaneously honking our mc’s horns.
Looking backwards… we hastily parked our mc’s and went on to check.
The pack’s exact line formation was at the Inner Northbound Lane, yet Eugene was found at the shoulder of the outer northbound lane. Shocked from what we saw, we carefully ensure if Eugene’s okay.
He was unconscious, yet he has pulse and was breathing. Our assessment on this was there could be a possible spine, head and/or neck injury. Transfer from the floor going to the stretcher was made with the help of a board which we got from the farm right in front were Eugene was lying.
I accompanied him going to the hospital and never stopped talking to him. Telling him…; “par, relax kamu… magpakasikan kamu kaybat mag rides tamu next year…. Ala man ini… agyu mu yan… pero tuknang kapa keng barurut patse alimu kami abe ha? Hehe”
Onwards, reaching Villasis. He was checked by the doctor and just like the typical movie that we often see… they don’t have the equipment to attend on such cases. So we need to travel a few minutes more going to Sacred Heart Hospital, Urdaneta. Where he was fairly taken cared of. Relatives were already informed about what happened and on their way to Urdaneta. Transferred to the ICU, assisting him breathing with the bag valve, ‘still… never have I stopped talking to him… telling him that his girlfriend’s already on his way and he better wake up and freshen up a li’l…
All though out… I received no response from him. Then the doctor called me, insisting that I need to call Eugene’s parents because he’s not going to make it. It was past 0800 and I don’t know what to do. I don’t think I have the strength to tell them that. But when I was on my way out of the ICU, I met them… Eugene’s mom and dad. I was out of breath and out of words and don’t know what to do or how to act. Finally, I decided to go back inside and tell the doctor that the parents have arrived.
One word… CLASSIC
It was one of those moments wherein we thought we only see in movies, guessed the doctor’s dialogue already? Yeah… it was… “misis, mister, wag po kayung mabibigla”.
And darn right, what do we expect? Of course they’ll drop down and beg not to hear the next words.
And as a parent, even if the doctor said that it going to be impossible for him to recover, they would be adamant to keep on going. And desperately believe that he’ll wake up and recover.
That the next morning they’d be able to talk to him… and smile with him… kiss and hug him saying how much everybody loves Eugene.
1300… we received a confirmation text message that Eugene’s gone.
Before the said time…
A couple of minutes after the parents arriving at the hospital. I went back to the police station to see the dreadful driver of the Innova. He can’t even look straight at us in the eye. I feel that his conscience is bothering him. I feel that he was sorry for what had happened. It could or may have been a little bit easier for us to accept that it “could” be an accident that he stupidly fell asleep while driving. They may consider the mistake as a minor one but the result was vast. It isn’t something that you can just close your eyes and when you open it, everything’ll be alright.
LIFE... It was taken away that easy.
Because of ones negligence.
And what’s funny about it is that the owner of the Toyota Innova even had the guts to bargain on what they can only pay or else they can just take it to the court. There was even this instance wherein the owner of the vehicle insists that it was our fault… that it was us who boastfully went to their lane! (Yeah… so Eugene took that route to slam himself on the Innova?)
The result was drastic. Everybody was in the state of shock.
Eugene’s parents signed on an agreement. What may hurt the most is that a person life isn’t more than a hundred fifty thousand pesos.
We cannot control the parents on what or how they want to proceed with this case…
These maybe GOD’s will but one thing’s for sure…
WE WILL ALWAYS BE HERE FOR EUGENE AND HIS FAMILY. AND IF EVER THE DAY COMES THAT THE FAMILY WANTS TO STAND UP AND FIGHT FOR JUSTICE?
WE WILL NEVER TOO FAR AWAY…
MUCH LOVE TO OUR BROTHER EUGENE REYES. YOU WILL FOREVER BE IN OUR HEARTS!!!
And I’ll be placing your number on my bike, as a sign that you’ve been and always will be a part of us… an ELITE!
T135 Family,
Your prayers are very much welcome and any help will be modestly accommodated.
