I have a new (2000km) 135 Exciter and I am in Vietnam. I see there is a country specific section for Vietnam, but I can't read nor speak Vietnamize well enough.
I need a bit of clarification before I can move forward with some decisions. I have a Vietnamize g/f who speaks english somewhat, but she is not technical, esp. about motors. Her brother seems to know a few things, but does not speak english...so I am in a difficult situation and listening between the lines.
To compound the issue, I know very little about these bikes and the different models in different countries and such.
<cut to chase>
My g/f (if I understand the whole thing correctly) told me her brother said these bikes come a bit de-tuned...or at least there is a mod that can be done to 'unlock' a few more ponies. It seems there is a device (maybe an ignition module??) that they replace. The problem (it seems) is that it is manufactured in Vietnam and the quality is questionable and maybe or maybe not it works and/or for how long.
Can anyone clear this up for me? Basically I want to know if it's true that the 135 isn't shipped at full potential (it doesn't seem much more than the 125's to me) AND
what are some standard mods for performance? I would like a bit more bottom end acceleration without sacrificing existing topend...as in I don't want to simply re-ratio final gearing for bottom end.
I generally search these forums first, but I'm not even sure what I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance.
