Hi experts,

I need advice, can't seem to use my electric start button. When i used it when not heating the engine MC it won't work it seems that is like loWbat or something but when the engine MC is heated it will work?! what seems to be the problem?!

Cause one time i forgot to check my battery and it went down like i can't use the electric start so when i checked it the battery its almost drained with distilled water so i poured it full and since then the problem exist.

Need advice.. thanks

Had you tried charging the battery after filling it up with distilled water? How old is your battery? Usually a battery's life is 2-3 years. It will eventually loses its 100% useable power as you use it. In our case, the "one-click" starting when our bike is new will become lumpy as we use our electric starter. Even if we poured in distilled water for maintenance, it will not bring it back to 100%

If your battery is new and you experienced that same problem, there might be a fault in your electical system, namely, the rectifier and the charging coil. HTH.

Brod I believe your battery is already weak.
I suggest that you replace your current battery with a good after-market MAINTENANCE-FREE battery para wala ng hassle sa pagmo monitor ng water level. I recommend a GS maintenance-free battery. Relatively, affordable ang price nito at GS batteries na rin ang gamit ng yamaha sa mga brand new mc nila. Just make sure genuine ang mabibili mo. Dami kasi mga fakes ngayon.

No problem bro. Glad to help a fellow rider. Drained battery water is a sure battery killer. Even if it is new, you are making the useable life of youe batt shorter.

You might want charge your battery. You can determine if your battery's power is low if your horn (busina) is "paos" (sorry, do not know the term). Do this without the engine running. Just turn the ignition on.

I remember one morning that I had a lumpy engine starting using my push button on my Sniper, I rode my bike in a sudden down pour but since it is near my house I ride my way home the night before. I checked the button and it is wet, I wiped it dry and sprayed contact cleaner and the problem is gone.

Mas mabuti siguro drain mo muna LAHAT ng water sa battery mo then put 20% battery solution and 80% distilled water. Tapos i-full charge mo ang battery then try mo kung ok na siya kahit sa morning start up.
But if symptoms persist, see a doctor. I mean see a reputable battery dealer. I'm from Cavite and GS maintenance-free battery costs around P1,150 here. I've been using this battery for 5 months now at okey pa naman ito.

thanks talaga bro wingman... ur the man

Sir wingman is correct. Pure battery solution is very concentrated to a point that it might erode your battery's lead plates quickly. Shorter battery life. And I also agree on the slow-charging issue. Slowly but surely.

Just be careful on handling the liquid that you will drain on your battery. It is very acidic. If an accidental splash occur, wash your hand with soap and water.

@ wingman,

AFAIK, Yuasa is the brand of our OEM battery. Am I right? Lucky for those who will have a GS battery installed as OEM.

@ wingman,

You are right brod. Yuasa WAS the brand of our stock batteries. Even my bike had the same brand of battery when I bought it. Recently however, I've noticed that almost all of the newly-bought Yamaha bikes that were brought to our shop have GS brand batteries in them. I asked my friends from the Yamaha assembly plant in Batangas about this and they told me that YMPI now installs GS batteries to all models. As I understands it, economics was YMPI's reason. GS batteries are much cheaper than Yuasa batteries.
@ brod Tibay-Sniper
Whatever brand you decide to buy, make sure they are genuine. It doesn't always pay to buy the cheap ones. Most of the times, they are cheap, but so is their quality.
Always glad to be of help. Sarap ng feeling pag may natutulungan tayo. di ba? Who knows, maybe one day I'd ask for your help when I get to visit Cebu again. Kasabut ko dyutay piro dili ko kasulti, bay.

Kasabut man ko bay piro gamay lang. Oki man advice sa imo ni brod chiglai.
My dream ride is to be able to conquer Mindanao and the Visayas, aboard my bike. I have friends in these areas cause I used to cover them when I was still in the corporate world. That was how I learned the dialects from the south. I also had an ex-gf from uptown Cebu who I hope will never get to see me when I go back there. Baka habulin ako ng baril. he he he.
Sana nga makasama ako dyan next year. If you have problems regarding your bike, just ask. We, from SOS, are always willing to help a fellow biker. Always ride safe brod
